Monthly Archives: February 2006

Wow.. only 3 replies to that question?? Where is Debbie, Katy, Vangie??  Mom???  come on..

here is my answer:

I think.. If I only had one week to live..

I would spend more time with my husband and children.. Just forget the
dust and cobwebs.. and deep cleaning.. I would spend every moment
enjoying my family.. maybe spend part of the week visiting family and
friends but definatly enjoying my family more.. and documenting some
special moments on video for them.. Roberta’s letter writing sounds
awesome too.. and I would add videos.. someone mentioned that a woman
was dying and she made a video for every year of her daughter’s
birthday.. I am not sure if I would go that far.. becasue it may take
too much time away from the quality family time.. but I would
definately do some.  I would want to create as much special
memories as I could for my children.

I am sorry I have been gone.. things have been totally busy around
here.. I am going to try to upload some pics and share what has been
happening.

but here is a question for you..

What would you do….

If you found out you had one week to live?

Would you do anything differently?

First I will share Saturday –
We started out to the bank around 10.  After the bank we decided to
drive down to Lowe’s so we could see their trucks.  We are thinking
about using their truck deliver the bed and mattresses from bj’s.  (If
it is allowed).  Of course I had never been in Lowe’s (it is brand new
here) so we decided to check it out.  We have a problem when we hit
appliance sections.. We love looking at fridges and imagining that we
have money and picking which one we will buy.. (are we alone in that..
lol).  As usual a sales person always ruins it by asking if we need
help.. lol (like we have that kind of money!) So we moved to the
sliding doors section (we already picked our favorite fridge.. lol)
Those sliding doors are so awesome (actually they would replace the
sliding doors and look more like french doors.

Angel then wanted to look around Gamespot, but Anna pitched such a huge
fit that we walked out as soon as we walked in.  ugh.

Then we went to Superwalmart.  I need to find sheets for Anna’s new
beds and Walmart supercenter did not have much of a selection at all.
So I did my grocery shopping then we headed out again.  Angel decided
that he was hungry, we all were.. So we went to Mirsh Masala.. It is a
great Indian Buffet.. however.. there is hardly ever anything that Anna
will eat.  I put a few things in her plate but all she ever eats is the
cukes and tomatoes (if I can find some clean ones in the salad, carrots
slices, and na’an.. We are so grateful they do not charge for her..

After that we ran to Stop and Shop for some fruits/veggies (I never
care for the looks of Walmart’s selections)  I als ran into Kohls to
see about their sheets.  A co-worker mentioned they were on sale for
10.00 but didn’t know if the sale ended.. It did
So we went to the Walmart there and I found some sheets for 11.00.
Anna loved the butterfly one.. but they only had 1 set.. ugh.. (we need
two for the bunk beds) so I ended up paying 17.00 each for the princess
set and a throw for her bed to match.  Any blanket will do for the
guest bed for now.

As we were leaving we got a call from David.  asking to be picked up..
good timing.  It would not have been good to get that call after we
arrived home.. So when we picked David up we asked him to wait in the
car with sleepy Anna so we can run into Job Lot.  I found a Sudoku
board game.. can’t wait to try that out.  We went looking for Anna’s
favorite cereal but they didn’t have anymore.  So we bought a different
one to try.  Their cereals are name brands for about 1.99 and we refuse
to may alot for cereal .. so we go there and sometimes get great
treats.. the latest was Capn Crunch boxes.. Family loved that.

Then
we finally get home.. I am not sure what time it was.. but it was dark
so after 5pm sometimes.. We left at 10am!

Yesterday we woke to pooring rain.. oh my.. I did not want to check on
the chickens because I have to go through the back yard.. and it is
swamp out there.. you literally sink into the ground.. ugh.. So I
finally go out there and did ok til I got to the coop.  I went to open
the doors to the shed and I slid.. I almost went completely down into
the mud.. (I was fully dressed for church and we were already late!)
My saving was due to me smashing my hand into the padlock latch and
managing to grab it at the same time… Ouch.  But all is well and no
serious bruises.. All chicks are alive (for those that don’t know.. 3
chickens died in a major rainstorm over the summer.)

We went to church.. There was a flood in the basement so they had no
class for the kids (happens every time we have severe rain there.  But
of course, Anna had to go pee.. so we got the pleasure of wading toward
the bathroom so she could pee into the pitch black toilet.. eww.. (So
glad I put high boots on both of us)

After church was the business meeting.  Angel worked all night
preparing the budget sheets.. and he always gets nervious when he has
to explain the budget.. but he always does a good job. The business
meeting didn’t take too long.. so we were able to leave quickly enough
and grab a bite at Wendy’s before heading to my mom’s place..

Angel installed the new cd-rom into her computer (which is actually a
cd read and write but she can’t use that feature yet) while mom showed
me the china she picked up for Anna’s birthday tea party.. we are just
gonna have so much fun.. Then we went downstairs and visited my dad for
a bit.  (Pray for him, he has surgery on the 14th for a hernia that he
has had forever.  They say there is a chance he will not make it
through surgery.. and if he does make it.. He hates hospitals and has a
tendency to walk out..)

We left mom’s around 6pm and ran to pick up David at work (about 1 hour
and 15 min away) and dropped him off at home (15 min) then drove to
Pastors for the football party (30 min) where Angel dropped me off
because he had to work for a little bit.  Angel was able to come back
to the party for a little bit.. then go back to work to finish off the
job.  I was able to play games!  It has been so long. and I do not do
well in a big crowd (very shy) but the group was so small and I was
personally asked if we wanted to play scrabble.. it was great.  I am
not good but still enjoyed myself.  We also played Upwords (first for
me)  and ate food.  Yes I ate things I really wasn’t supposed to.. I
was starving cause we never stopped for dinner and it was 8pm when we
got there.

When Angel came back, we sat and chatted with Pastor and Paula.. it was
so nice.. but got late really fast.  Anna had alot of fun.  We didn’t
get home til midnight and went straight to bed.. It was definately a
long exhausting day.

So far today I have done my 6 miles on my bike while watching the end
of One Tree Hill on tape.. (man I cried!)  While writing this I have
eaten a bananas, woke David, started a pot of coffee, and made his
smoothies.. Now I am off to make Angel’s lunch.  Today I need to do
catch up cleaning.. (weekends are always horrible) I have tons of
laundry to wash and I want to take the items I have already put aside
from the basement and list them on Freecycle.  It will be my very first
listing.

BTW- Thanks for all the comments and party ideas.  I have most of it planned and will share soon.

I am planning a Tea Party for Anna’s 5th Birthday Party in April.
I am so excited.. but tearful at the same time.. I love planning
parties but I don’t want her to turn 5!  If you have ideas, please
share!

I am faithfully going through boxes.. there is so much in there.. I
have a pic but no way am I sharing..lol.. It looks horrible!  I
found tons of cards, well visit forms from when David was younger,
daycare reciepts from 12-7 years ago, when I did home daycare.. lol..
think these are ok to toss.. ?? The cards are so hard.. so many people
have passed through my life that I have forgotten about..
