Today is a special day..
On this day, 11 year ago..
This beauty was born..

She was the flower girl at my wedding..

She was the sweetheart who loved to tell really long stories..
and practice crying in the mirror..

She loved getting all prettied up and getting her pictures taken..

She is very kind, patient and thoughtful..

Especially when it comes to playing with little anna..

If anna cried she would say.. anna push me.. and pretend to fall til anna would laugh.

She is just so loving and sweet, you want to scoop her up and keep her forever..
at least I do…

she is a little diva

A ballerina

A princess

Who won’t stop growing!  No matter how much we beg!

She is my neice, Jade, and today she turns 11.

We love you Jade!  (pouty face and all…)

Happy 11th Birthday Jade!
Love, Auntie and Annaleah

Me Sick….

A few weeks ago, when David moved out, we decided to turn his room into our school room.  So I got very busy putting things there..

We moved in anna’s book case.  the grey crate is all anna’s school materials.
There is anna working on her writing..

Close up of the school table.. I love having the portable dvd player in there for her math lessons.

Hi Anna.  Write neatly please..

These bins will hold some craft supplies, papers, etc.. (we still have to get David’s computer out of there.)

This shelf used to hold food in the basement.. I brought it up here to use.  Still working on organizing it a bit.

And it is a great place to store all Ethan’s toys when he isn’t here.

Our Thanksgiving countdown turkeys.. we take a feather off daily and write on it what we are thankful for.  This pic was taking awhile ago.. so there was still alot of feathers left.

Annaleah and her Turkey…

The awesome thing about the school room is now the dining room is not so cluttered.. most of these things were in there..

This fireplace is usually piled high with books and everything else.

This spot used to hold anna’s crate of school books.. not it holds all the crochet and knitting stuff.
there is my cubby which holds my laptop.. in the corner.

Now if only I knew what to do with this spot.. angel tends to work in that corner.. so I need to figure out how to make it more functional.. we also need a couch!

I must start off by saying how wonderful my hubby is.

We were invited to a wedding in VA.  The mother of the bride is a dear online friend from a group I have been a part of for about 7 years. We have all met before and I have shared pics on here the past..

Why is hubby so wonderful.. first we don’t have much money and second.. he had to work.. However, he decided that we were going to go down there regardless..

Friday morning we drove down.  It was a long drive for us because he had gotten a call and we had to pull over in a parking lot for about 1.5 hours so he could get online.  We had the cooler packed with food so we didn’t have to stop too much.. which was great.

We finally got to the hotel around 12:30am.  Poor Anna.. when we arrived she broke down in tears.  She had never been in a hotel before and had some high expectations.. not to mention she was tired…  When asked what the problem was she said she wanted to go home.. she didn’t like the hotel, the walls were ugly and the floor is ugly (her words).  So I cuddled with her on one of the beds and she fell asleep in no time.

One of the biggest concerns were internet access.. we were told it was no problem.. well it was.. he was not able to log on that night. the next morning he went to the office and they fixed it..however, it was still continuing to be a problem..

Now, Roberta was heading to the same hotel but angel needed a more reliable connection.. so he made a call and booked another hotel.  We decided for several reasons that I should stay at the current hotel for 1 more night.  When Roberta checked in she got the next room and we had a door between our rooms.. which thrilled anna!

After getting ready we all headed to the wedding.. Which was beautiful!  I wasn’t able to take many good pics but I will share what I have.

Congrats to Elya and Kyle!

For some reason my camera was really acting funny.. got alot of blurry shots.

Don’t mind the noise.. it does that when we zoom in or out..

Elya’s Dad performed the ceremony
Elya’s sister, Jana

What’s left of the cake
anna wanted to take all these balloons home!

I wish I had gotten pics of the tables.. they were absolutely lovely.  The food was awesome!

The Joyful Ladies – me, Roberta, Debi, Evangeline (mother of the bride) and Debbie

After the wedding we headed back to the hotel to change up.  Angel went to his hotel for a nap and Roberta and I headed to Debi to join the ladies there.  It was great to be with the ladies.. we also talked about crocheting and knitting.. and many other things.  Roberta and I were exhausted, and so were our we made a quick trip to evangeline’s house then headed to the hotel for bed..

of course when I got there I was awake again.. angel called around 1:30 to tell me he was coming to get us at 6am.. yikes!  so I woke at 5 and started packing up.  thankfully he didn’t come til after 7.. whew.. and I got to chat with Roberta again before she hit the road.

the 2nd hotel was definately much nicer.. So we just kinda vegged there for the day.

Annaleah and I playing Uno at the hotel

come on.. smile anna!

Daddy working.. (poor angel worked from 8pm Saturday night til past 11:30 Sunday night.  He was driving around looking for a store that was open cause he was hungry!

Debi got Anna and I out of the hotel for a bit.. after driving around and site seeing.. we headed back to her place for great food and conversation.
I loved spending time with her kids.. loved watching how they interact with each other.  Loved chatting with the older girls.  Anna also had a blast..

Debi and I .. yes.. It is me.. I rarely put a pic of me on here.. so no more nagging!

We packed up to leave Monday morning.. The trip would not be complete without a visit to Anderson’s Market.

We made sure to pack up lots of goodies and my Peanut butter schmeir!  which is the best!  And of course chat with Evangeline and some family members.

I can’t wait for another trip.. minus Angel having to work and avoiding any deer on the way back would certainly make it perfect.

Thank you ladies for a wonderful time!

what do I feel?  It is a mixture of emotions..
Not to long ago it was joy,
a precious bundle was delivered
doesn’t matter the circumstances
it is precious, innocent and perfect
I thought all was well.
I wanted to do more
I feel we did alot in the past
however, the last 10 months our hands were tied
there was conflict, confusions, accusations
I did my best to stay out of it
Gave people space
but wanted them to know I was there
quietly, caring and praying
recently, finances tied hands tighter
situations kept us close to home
missing my gram I have not seen in what seems to be forever
but we made a choice
we visited the precious bundle
hoped that would show some support
hoped that even though finances were tight for now
presence was worth more
praying that someday soon we could be of more help
hoping we could go again soon with knitted and crocheted treasures
that were made with love
however, no matter the attempt
we were knocked down
over something that had nothing to do with us
I think,
yet blamed for so much
and rejected
turned away
no explanations
so I sit here sad, confused and slightly angry
cause words were said
words meant to hurt
words that can not be erased or forgotten
so easily
I guess all I can do is sit quietly
and pray
and wait
maybe things will change
as I have no control over the situations
or even the persons involved
all I can do is sit patiently

and see what the Lord has in store through all of this.

I was playing around,  searching in the archives and just had to repost this.. she looks soo tiny!

4 year old anna teaches us how to make ornaments

Mix together

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 3/4 cup of salt
  • 1/2 cup of water

may need to use more flour to get rid of stickiness

Mix til smooth.. Roll it out

find all your favorite Christmas cutters and cut out your shapes

Put in a very low oven for a few hours.. then leave overnight to dry completely..

may need more time depending on thickness..

paint your cutouts

Look at the ones that I did

have Mommy or Daddy help with the hard stuff

Then put them on your tree!

Boy, That was fun!

I was hoping to share about my wonderful time with some of my online friends in Virginia.  We were there for a wedding and visit.  We drove back home Monday morning..

It was a long drive.. at 1:30 am we had only 30 minutes left.. and I even said it out loud.. I remember a song came on the radio.. it was a catchy tune.. called I’m yours… We were driving on 95 north.. 5 car lane I believe.. we were in the right lane .. it was dark.. suddenly I saw a deer’s head, right in the front left hand side of the van.. I screamed..

We hit the deer.. glass shattered all over angel..from his window,  front left side of van is damaged.. as well as the door.  Anna slept thru the entire thing.. We didn’t know what to do. the smell was awful and it was so dark that the deer was getting hit over and over again.. it was horrible and I was in tears.  I am so glad anna wasn’t awake as she would have seen that poor deer, hit over and over.  Angel believes it was dead instantly.. which I am grateful.

We were there about 30 minutes, moving glass, looking at the damage, and trying to figure out what to do.. I had my prepaid cell but we didn’t know who to call.. we debated 911 but decided that wasn’t an option since no person was in a life or death situation.. (after talking so someone I realize we could have called 911)  so I called my dad.. he told us to go home and call.  So we did.. it was so cold we really wanted to get anna into a warm house.  The deer at this point (was not whole) and was now in the light so cars were avoiding her.  Angel had debated trying to pull her to the side.. but trucks were just going by fast and I was afraid they wouldn’t see him!

It was a slow 30 min home as angel didn’t want to hit another deer (we live in the country).  It was also freezing cold.. so I had been trying to cover anna up with a blanket I was crocheting.. When we got home we called a few places til we finally had the right police to call.. and talked to them.. they had said if we called on the road then they would have come out and checked out the damage and made sure we got home safely.  But since we were already home and ok, they would go to the scene and make sure the deer was out of the way.  they then said we could file a report with our insurance and that was it.

we of course, started to feel really guilty for leaving.. but on the other side.. I can’t imagine sticking around in the cold weather when we had no coats.. only jackets.  So I am not sure if we did the right thing or not.

There is no reason to file a claim as we only have the minimum coverage which does nothing for us in this case.

It was very scary but could have been much worse.  Anna could have been covered in glass since she sits right behind Angel.. there were so many could have’s in the entire situation.. I am just thankful the Lord was watching over us..

I have taken some pics.

Tomorrow I will try to post our vacation.. I truly had a wonderful time.
