do you love those marshmallow peeps???

Take a peeps tour..

ok.. so I stink at blogging these days.. sigh..

Just been busy.. busy with schooling, finances, house work, party planning.. my to do list is seriously never ending!

So let’s see..

been working on a new school system.. Read about the workbox system..but there was no way I could fit all the shoeboxes in our dining room.  So after talking with Angel and really thinking about it.. we decided to make this system work for us.. I didn’t have to buy a single thing.

We set up 9 to 12 folders (depending on the work)

Her first folder of the day is her bible reader.. which she loves to read all by herself.

Next is usually her math.  On monday I put her math dvd in to learn her new lesson.
we also put in her reading, explode the code, her reading worksheet, etc..  anything we may need to accomplish..

She loves it when I randomly through in a sudoku puzzle.. a girl after my own heart.

Sometimes she will get to choose what to research.. or maybe write a story using a writing prompt.  On the back of this card there are questions she must answer.  I help her research and then we put her answers on her blog..

this is her keyboard lessons..

sometimes I will through in a game.. or a recipe for her to make with me.

when she is done with a folder.. she is to put her folders behind this yellow envelope.. pages she has done goes into the envelope.  Using this system allows her to work independantly and she knows how many more folders she has left.

the stuff in the back of the crates are my folders which hold printables I have gotten from different online sources..

Amazingly, this system is really working for Annaleah.  For some reason she is really enjoying working on it.. no trying to get out of it.  It also doesn’t take long for me to get the folders ready at all.  The other day I had a serious headache.. I moved the envelopes so that only 3 important folders were showing..after she did those I went to bed and she was happy to be done with school.  so it allows us to continue being flexible if we need to.

Ok.. so I am very very far behind.. sigh..

Been trying to get back into the routine of things.. school, new cleaning schedule.. which I stink at.. but hey.. gotta keep trying right.

Today I have been working in the kitchen.. so far I made home-made tortillas.. which are almost gone.. seems they were awesome and everyone ate them like mad!  Didn’t even last an hour!
Then I started chickpeas to make hummus, then bagel dough.. (yep.. gonna try), which have just been shaped into balls and resting.  Also started dough for Italian bread (rising now) and made a batch of Flan… which is cooling on counter.  I want to try periogies but not today.. I am already tired of being in that

Well I said I was going to post about the Vacation.. so here it goes..
David just loves goofing off with the girls.. and you can tell they are already making themselves comfortable..

Not sure why it is so blurry.. hmm

The girls decided it would be cool to make forts in the living room.. This is Jade’s area.. They did not care for having to remove the forts before dinner and starting from scratch the next morning.. so they decided to make then in the bedroom instead.

Jade had a really cool project to work on.. but I forgot to take a picture of the finished work!

Kate was busy building with Jenga blocks

When Jade and Kate come for the week.. I try to let my friend’s daughter come over for a night or two.. here they are playing Perfection.

Jade had to take a picture of a moth she found in the house.

When the girls are here.. they get the living room at night!   It prevents me from freaking out when I see the bedroom before bed.  I literally avoid the bedroom the entire week.. Until the night before they leave.. then we go through everything to make sure they pack all their stuff.

Breakfast Burritos.. a huge hit!

Anna prefers hers with only sour cream and cheesse.. ewww!

We decided to play around a bit with mini pretzels, some leftover cookies, chocolate pieces, white chocolate with red coloring.. oh and we must not forget candy pieces..

Look at Jade’s messy fingers!

Kate was eating them as she made

This went over really well with the kids.. I would love to do this around Christmas time!

Next we just had to make us some Goo!

Silly girls!

Goo is so easy.. all you need is glue.. food coloring.. and some borax mixed with water.. so easy.

Loved the design when we added the food coloring.

Each girl having their own color eliminates problems later..

When you first add the borax, this happens..

the more you work at it .. the better it gets…

Only Anna would make such a mess..

Come on.. go make yourself some goo.. I even have some for me..

Sleeping?? or pretending??
and how in the world does 4 girls fit on a full size mattress???

Anna and Kate singing karaoke

Gotta have strange pics of the first born..

Jade, suddenly camera shy??

There she is!

Love that smile!

Jade while working on her project.. talk about messy!!!

As usual, I love having the girls here.. It literally brings out the kid in me sometimes.. (literally – you can even ask them, but please don’  but it is always too short.  I can’t wait til their next visit here again.. fall thru winter is always the longest til they get to come again.

Ok.. time for me to finish the bagels.. bye!
