There were wonderful resources all over the internet for this party. We cut t-shirts up the middle for lab coats. Here are two wonderful sites.
This is gonna be long.. so warning.. prepare for pictures.. lots of pictures!!
We left Wednesday evening. First we hit a pizza place for some grinders for the road. It was a late dinner (around 8:30). It was a long drive through the night. I was enjoying my book the entire ride til I crashed around 4:30am. Angel pulled over around 5:30 and slept for about 2 hours.. then we were back on the road again. It all went well til Angel pulled over in a Mc. D’s so he could sign on for a meeting (work).. it was going to take an hour he told me.. well it turned into two hours.. not to bad.. anna and I took this time to change up a bit and do some re-organizing in the van. After we hit the road again it became tough.. we were only about 3 hours away.. however, work kept calling.. we had told Roberta we should arrive around 2pm.. 3 hours turned into 6 hours with all the work calls.. We finally arrived at Roberta’s Thursday around 5pm. We had an awesome dinner. Angel loved it so much he had seconds. It is a Super-Sized 7-Layer Casserole The video is here.
Today we helped get ready for the rest of the families to come. While Roberta and I hit the stores, Annaleah seemed to enjoy helping Mr. Tim with his list.
I left Anna with my camera and here are a few pics she snapped..
I love seeing things from Anna’s perspective. I heard that Annaleah sang to Tim as he did his work around the house. The wonderful thing about it all is that Tim really encouraged and enjoyed her.. and Anna.. she loves being the center of attention.. so she was in heaven!
For dinner that evening we put together a wonderful eggplant Parmesan dish and a stuffed shells dish. Both were delicious.
By the end of the evening, Teri, Rich and Debi’s family had joined in. It was just wonderful sitting around and talking.
Look at that darling face!
Watching funny video.. which you can see here..
After playing outside for a while..the kids came in and we did crafts..
Later, all the children went back outdoors.. My anna gets very nervous on the trampoline with others.. so I ended up handing her the camera once again..
Dinner was Turkey, ham, sweet potato souffle, asparagus, corn and crescent rolls..
It was so wonderful to sit and chat and laugh.. It was a marvelous time of fellowship.
For desert there was a huge variety of pies and coconut cake.. yum..
Sunday we spent some time in the morning getting ready to leave. We were heading out to see Angel’s family a little further south. We would not be back before Debi and her family left.. so we had to take plenty of pictures..
What a fun crowd!!
We headed down to Cesar’s and spent some time visiting there..
After arriving back at Roberta’s that evening, we got to check out the Wii a bit more.. Anna started to play the boxing game.. she knocked out 8 guys in a row! by the 9th guy she was exhausted .. She broke down sobbing.. “I can’t do it anymore!” .. She did awesome for an hour though.. and we just cheered her on.
Here you can see Anna in action.
We saw some awesome clouds on the way home..
One of the things we loved is if we got hungry.. there was a nice variety of places to eat fast food.. here the choices are Wendy’s, Mc D’s and Burger King.. and they are not good at all. We ate at Bojangles, Sonic and even Hardees down there was awesome.
We arrived home safely at 4am.. 18 hours on the road. We left everything in the van and just went straight to bed. It was an awesome weekend.
